service

In a Palace lives a Princess, in a purpose lives a maid.
Though a servant serves the need
she need not play the game that’s played.

(for this the world is suffering:
a servant prince is not a thing that can exist with ruling Kings.)

hammurabi

Those who would fain to forbid hardly forbid squarely,
and the things they are fond of forbid only rarely,
(or only forbid for those who they’re not)
and the rules that they barely make often fit unfairly.

Take note: a reasonable law was never writ
upon which a reasonable man would judge to sit.

evolution

One thought alone is known,
but seven thousand wonder.
One infinitely thinking sun
can’t rip the thought asunder.

wisdom

A ray of light seems straight because
it is the arbiter of laws.
Still, like living things it tends
in gravitas to slightly bend.

The more the matter meets the light,
the more the matter changes sight.

collapse

Brittle is the substance of deceit,
and cracks flee patterns from the liar’s feet.

Long enough he walks, the patterns meet.
The street falls through the weight of his conceit.

turning

Round the circle we run the race,
chase the chaser, push the pace.
One day we fall, flat on our face.
What a disgrace!

There is no doubting that the wheel is there.
The question: does it take us anywhere?

wealth

Where money grows the gods of greed have spoken,
for other gods do not require such token.
Money blurs the lines of interaction,
and schemers wear its veil as a distraction.

A giver grows in spirit,
while in glutton grows the taker.
The larger one grows, the more one shows one’s maker.

exoskeleton

The crust of crushed and crumbled hearts
paves the pathways of human endeavor,
like the shell of a passage afraid to show its head.

The carapace barely hides
the soft and squishy underbelly of the human condition.

In opposition, competition makes a cage of inhibition.

fruitless

The feeble child runs to the marketplace of the mind.
The empty vessel screams in the drowning pool of lines.

For out of the arrow sprang the seed
the bleeds the scribbled ink of need
on any scratch the creature leaves behind.

silence

An attempt to examine one’s thinking for flaws
finds that thinking is best when it’s breaking the laws.
One can see how the pattern corrupts at the slightest applause.

So the wiser one quickly withdraws.
